"Any shows wishing to be included, please send details of your event to the webmaster or fill out contact form below.
Shows holding 3 or more FB classes may be added to this list, or 2 classes and a championship, or can be included if they
are qualifiers for the FBS Championship Show (see show affiliation form) and include the following in their schedule:
"This class(or classes X to Y) is a qualifier for the 2018/2019 as appropriate) FBS Championship Show and will be judged under FBS American (or English, as appropriate) Rules - details from:www.foreignbreeds.org"
If shows hold 3 or more Foreign Breed classes and are affiliated to FBS we are happy to not only include their details on the diary list above but also a pdf file of their schedule
at the bottom of this page, plus offer inclusion in our Annual (see show affiliation form)
(This following statement is not needed in wording of your schedule)
Judges should familiarise themselves with the Judging & Showing Booklet, in particular to take note that there is NO stripping of horses in performance classes (whether judging under "English" or
"American" style). Stripping MAY be done in championships (if there is sufficient time) but competitors should be forewarned of this in the schedule. If the horse has already been presented in an in
hand class, then the conformation marks should stand for the day (e.g. in Championships).
Whips - there are no written whip rules, BUT all harness horses MUST be shown with whips (by the driver) In ridden classes dressage whips ARE allowed by some breeds, (again, whether the class is run
under "English" or "American" rules) - for example both the Morgan Horse and the American Saddlebred Horse competitor are allowed to carry whips (up to 39 inches - so in effect a schooling whip),
whilst the Friesian Horse can carry a cane, but NOT a schooling whip.
The Judging and Showing booklet is easily downloaded from the website (www.foreignbreeds.org
) and we urge any show organisers to point their judges in this direction if they are judging under FBS rules. Paper copies are available upon request, for a small
fee to cover cost of printing and postage.
